Pavel Haas Quartet | String quartet
Who Are They?
In 2002, violinist Veronika Jarůšková and violist Pavel Nikl decided to create a lasting tribute to a man silenced by the Nazi regime. This decision came after hearing recordings of all three string quartets composed by Pavel Haas. Adding the word “quartet” completed the group’s name and which in turn created the need the need to find two more musicians. Since then, many top musicians played with the quartet with Veronica Jarůškova remaining from the original lineup. Cellist Petr Jarůšek joined her two years later, and today, the Pavel Haas Quartet - now with violinist Marek Zwiebel and violist Šimon Truszka - continues to captivate Czech and international audiences.
“We want to spread the beauty and depth of music that resonates with people across languages and cultures.”
